Abdelhadi Belkhayat

Abdelhadi Belkhayat est une légende de la scène lyrique nationale. Né en 1940 à Fès, il a très tôt quitté sa ville natale pour s'installer à Casablanca. Une audition à la radio marocaine le pousse rapidement sur le devant de la scène. Le chanteur réussit à imposer son style avec sa voix chaleureuse et ses mélodies d'influences orientales. Belkhayat s'adapte aussi à différents genres musicaux. Il passe de la plus difficile des « qassida » de Mohammed Abdelwahab au plus populaire des airs de Houcine Slaoui. Abdelhadi Belkhayat connaît un grand succès jusqu'à la fin des années 80 où il décide d’entamer une période mystique et se consacre exclusivement aux psalmodies coraniques. Le grand artiste revient de temps à autre à la scène pour le plaisir de ses fans qui se comptent par millions et qui continueront à répéter les refrains de «Mamanak Zouj», «Ya dak el insan» et «Qitar Al hayat».

Abdelhadi Belkhayat is a legend of the national lyrical scene. Born in 1940 in Fes, he left his birth town very early for the city of Casablanca. An audition on Moroccan radio quickly propels him to the spotlight. The singer succeeds in imposing his style with his warm voice and melodies of oriental influences. Belkhayat also adapts to different genres of music. He goes from the most difficult “qassida” by Mohammed Abdelwahab to the most popular tones of Houcine Slaoui. Abdelhadi Belkhayat knew great success until the late 80s when he enters a mystical period and devotes himself exclusively to Koranic chants. The great artist returns to the scene from time to time to please his millions of fans, and who keep repeating the choruses of “Mamanak Zouj,” “Ya dak el insan,” and “Qitar Al hayat.”
